20 Apr Is your dog too close to you?
Do you share your bed with your dog? Do you pet him every time he asks? Do you love paying attention to him and cuddle as much as he wants, but are concerned that it might be negative for him in the long run?
The cause of separation anxiety is still unknown, but we believe that there is a genetic predisposition that can be triggered by favorable environmental conditions (usually in the form of traumatic events), causing the onset of the problem.
This means that too much love isn’t the cause of this condition, and taking it away won’t solve it. Actually, it could make it worse by adding a stressful change in the routine (I don’t pay attention to you anymore when you ask me to).
